GDSNY designed the new 35 story tower and art installation for the new Orgelpipan Tower in Stockholm, Sweden.
The 35-story glass and stone structure is located above a central rail interchange with close proximity to the World Trade Center and other waterfront amenities. The project combines luxury residential apartments at the top of the tower, with a 4-star boutique hotel at the base and class A offices in the mid-rise section. The architecture features offset cubist volumes, each one identifying its specific program element and allowing for individual marketing and branding of component structures. Michael Kirchmann worked in collaboration with Matthew Schreiber to develop a sensory light installation in the train and subway components of the project that alternates given the time changes during the course of the year.
