Matthew Forsum is a Director at GDSNY with a focus on investment management, underwriting and asset management. He is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and structuring new debt and equity opportunities, loan originations, purchase of non-performing debt, and the acquisition of development propoerties.

Prior to joining GDSNY, Matt was the Vice President of Acquisitions, Dispositions and Operations at Spear Street Capital in New York where he asset managed a 1.7 million sf commercial real estate portfolio and was responsible for $600 million in equity investments.

Prior to that Matt was at Eastdil Secured in the Equity and Debt Capital Markets Group where he managed transaction cycle, including detailed financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, marketing, structuring, and closing coordination. Closed deal volume totaled $5.2 billion across 17 transactions throughout the capital structure.

Matt is an alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara and a member of the ULI.
